The 2008 Circle K Tempe Music Festival is breaking out the big guns this year. Fergie and My Chemical Romance are set to headline the sixth annual fest, scheduled for Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29 at Tempe Beach Park (Northwest corner of Rio Salado Parkway and Mill Avenue).

This is a big step up from last year’s headliners – The Fray and Arizona’s own Gin Blossoms.

Pop princess Fergie will headline March 28 and emo-rockers MyChem will headline March 29. Additional acts will be announced every week leading up to the festival.

“We are stepping it up this year in a big way with our headliners and more than music attractions,” said Ken Koziol, co-founder of the Tempe Music Festival in a press release. “The Superbowl and FBR set the bar very high for 2008 – a bar we fully intend to meet with our festival.”

Tickets, which range from $35 for general admission to $125 for VIP, will go on sale 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 14 through Ticketmaster (ticketmaster.com) and Live Nation (livenation.com). Additional acts will be announced every week leading up to the festival.

The festival will feature three stages of entertainment with more than 30 national, regional and Valley acts, a rock ‘n’ roll fashion show, extreme sports demonstrations, Bud Light sports bar and garage band competition.

My Chemical Romance is not an emo band and to say otherwise is disrespecting the whole point that band was started. Gerard started the band with the hopes of saving lives, they've succeeded at doing that will flying colors. I ask that this be edited and remove the "emo." They are rockers, but they are in no way shape or form emo. Comment has been reviewed
