| Will Lyte Lounge & Bistro survive curse of its location? | ||||||||||||||||||||||

With only 11 items on the menu, including tapas and appetizers, Lyte is more lounge than bistro. And a classy one at that. ![]() Encased large bottles of Belvedere vodka and champagne catch our eye (pictured above). There’s white everywhere from the tablecloths to the chairs behind the bar to the large booths. Crystal chandeliers hang from the ceiling. A fireplace sits in the corner of the lounge by the entry. There’s also a flat screen TV showing a basketball game behind the bar, a DJ booth and a small patio with an additional fireplace. The menu: The bartender explains that the dishes — there are five appetizers and six tapas — are heart-healthy. Tapas include lobster, salmon and beef and range from $12 to $17. Appetizers, which are all $6, include chokes and green curry gumbo. The music: Mellow rock music from artists such as G. Love & Special Sauce plays through the speakers during our visit. DJs spin nightly. Happy hour: $1 off all drinks 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The verdict: Aside from the small portions, nothing we’ve seen — yet — sets this bar apart from other Scottsdale nightspots. However, the bartender did mention that the Lyte will host art exhibits and fashion shows in the future. The jury’s still out on this new lounge. REVIEW Lyte Lounge & Bistro Where: 7419 E.
