Chandler Jazz Fest
April is a musical festival month in the Valley: Country Thunder and the McDowell Mountain Music Festival comes up at the end of the month and the Chandler Jazz Festival runs this Friday, April 4, through Sunday, April 6. The Chandler Jazz Festival’s main stage will be at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park, 3 S. Arizona Ave., where acts including Mosey Horse and The Dirty Dozen Brass Band will perform between 4:45 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. on Friday, and high school and college jazz bands such as Jack Radavich Trio and 52nd St. Jazz Band perform Saturday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Headlining the festival on Friday at Chandler Center of the Arts, 250 N. Arizona Ave., will be New Orleans legend Dr. John, pictured, with special guest Kenny Garrett Quartet. Cancer benefit at Tempe’s Last Exit Bar and Grill

Valley music impresario Lance Wilson of Tenacity Productions (in association with The Pink Pals) will present “Save the Boobs 2.0,” a concert on Saturday, April 5, at Last Exit Bar and Grill, 1425 W. Southern Ave., Tempe, to benefit the Breast Cancer Three Day Walk. The show will feature such notable local music acts as Scotty Johnson of the Gin Blossoms, Pants, Tramps and Thieves, Sleepwalk a Robot, Breaking Down, Evan Brightly, Strange Young Things and Audra. Hot show of the week
