| John Mayer coming to Cricket Pavilion | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| By Chris Hansen Orf, Get Out | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| April 11, 2008 | ||||||||||||||||||||||
Mayer — a prodigious guitarist in the Stevie Ray Vaughan mold when he feels like it, as on his 2005 John Mayer Trio disc — attended the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston before moving to Atlanta to begin his solo career. Mayer won Grammys for Best Pop Album in 2007 for “Continuum” and won for Best Song in 2004 for his single “Daughters.” While mostly known for his pop singer/songwriter work, Mayer’s blues chops have earned him the respect of Eric Clapton, who has invited the guitarist to play at his Crossroads guitar festivals. Tickets for Mayer’s Cricket Wireless Pavilion show, priced from $31-$55, go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at the Cricket Wireless Pavilion box office and all Ticketmaster outlets.
