Mesa’s Jimmy Eat World to play Dodge Theatre

Signed to Capitol Records in 1995 and releasing two marginally successful albums (“Static Prevails” in 1996 and “Clarity” in 1998), the band became alt-rock stars with their 2001 release “Bleed American” (later changed to “Jimmy Eat World” after 9/11), which spawned the singles “The Middle,” “Bleed American,” and “Sweetness.” The band’s follow-up album, “Futures” (2004), debuted at No. 6 on the album chart and the band’s latest disc, “Chase This Light,” entered the album charts at No. 5 upon release in 2007.

Tickets for the Dodge Theatre show, priced at $30, go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at the Dodge Theatre box office, all Ticketmaster outlets and online at ticketmaster.com and livenation.com.
