There’s wood almost everywhere inside the small pub, which features video games such as Golden Tee and Big Buck Hunter. A strand of colorful Christmas lights decorates the bar, and there’s a pool table in the middle of the pub along with a jukebox. Behind the bar, two TVs are showing Madonna and Justin Timberlake’s video for their new single, “4 Minutes.” Men ages 40 and older mingle with the 20- to 30-something indie rock-looking crowd on a Tuesday night. The menu: English fare such as a beef and Guinness pie, chicken and mushroom pie and pasties can be found on the menu along with fine brews such as Boddingtons Pub Ale, New Castle, Dry Blackthorn Cider and Stella Artois. A bottle of Tequila Rose, a strawberry cream liqueur, catches my eye — it’s one of my favorite shots. Few bars carry the product, sadly. The music: We hear songs from The Ramones and Pete Bjorn and John being pumped from a TouchTunes jukebox during our visit. The jukebox is one of the most eclectic I’ve seen in the E.V., with selections from Radiohead, Muse, Portishead, Wilco, Sarah McLachlan and Massive Attack. Happy hour: $2.75 domestics and $4 wells and pints 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday The verdict: The British Open combines two of my favorite night spots — the crowd from the Rogue and the charm and vibe of Casey Moore’s — so I’ll definitely be back.
