Potstickers, crab puffs make sN a Mesa favorite

Get Out

The spot: Simply Noodles (sN) Pacific Rim Asian Kitchen, 1236 E. Baseline Road, Mesa

Happy hour: 4 to 7 p.m. daily and 9 to 11 p.m. daily on drinks only

The vibe: Chinese lanterns are suspended from the ceiling at sN and tables and chairs are spread among the small Mesa restaurant and bar. A bartender is pouring shots in the middle of a circular bar and a small crowd of people in their 20s to 40s appear to be enjoying the happy hour offerings on a Friday night.

The food deals:
Half-price appetizers

The drink deals: $1 off beers, $5.50 martinis and talls (large house cocktails)

The review: We love the lettuce wraps, which come with ample fresh lettuce and fixings — seasoned pieces of sauteed chicken breast and water chestnuts. The plump potstickers — one of our favorite happy hour items — are just as delicious and are covered in a light brown, sweet sauce. But it's the crab puffs that will have us coming back for more as well as the speedy service (we received our food in less than 15 minutes). The scrumptious treats, which left us yearning for more, come in an order of six and are filled with warm cream cheese and crab meat. The inside scoop: The restaurant removes its tables and chairs on Thursdays and is transformed into a club for Sin, a weekly hip-hop night, beginning at 9:30 p.m. The bar also features a sweet martini menu with drinks like the China Blue, Wild Grass and Silk Road.
