While many people try to parlay a reality television stint into a Hollywood career, Tempe resident Jeremy Jazwinski had other plans after appearing in "The Real Cancun," billed as the world's first reality film.

Although the much-publicized movie, which was conceived by the producers of MTV's Real World series and hit theaters in April, briefly turned Jazwinski and his two fellow Arizona castmates Matt Slenski and Sarah Wilkins into stars, Jazwinski isn't thinking about flexing his pecs on a magazine cover or taking a role in a soap opera.

Instead, Jazwinski, 23, plans to open a Scottsdale club, Loco Patron, with partners Josh Levine and Ryan Vertuca by early December.

I think it's every guy's dream to open his own bar, Jazwinski says.
The ASU graduate who majored in business marketing says the three took ideas from several East Valley establishments, including Kona Grill, Dos Gringos and Z Tejas.

We're cutting the whole front half of the building off and doing an indoor/outdoor bar, he says of Loco Patron, which will assume the former Voodoo Lounge location at Scottsdale Road and Fifth Avenue. It's so close to the street that you're going to be able to drive by and see the bartenders.

It's going to be Mexican-American. We're going to have palm trees, misters and a waterfall coming off of the building. It has a Mexico theme, so it kind of ties into the movie.

Jazwinski is no stranger to the bar industry. He started off as a barback at Axis/Radius when he was 19 and currently bartends at Bar Louie at Scottsdale Fashion Square.
Jazwinski says after the cast finished filming "The Real Cancun," they were told that Hollywood would come calling.

We had people for months telling us that we were going to be movie stars, he says of the film that combined sex, booze and spring break shenanigans. While I was traveling and doing press for the movie, I had people calling me, but people didn't really understand what the movie was all about.

Muscle Magazine was calling me. I had offers from Maxim. But they didn't know if I was an actor or model. People wanted a portfolio. I even went to L.A. and my press rep hooked me up with a couple agents to talk to. Being there and traveling made me realize acting wasn't for me.

Although he feels the film portrayed him as a cocky meathead, Jazwinski says he would do it again in a heartbeat.

I had so much fun, he says. It was such an experience. . . . I got to walk the red carpet in Hollywood for my own movie.

Jazwinski a friend of Scottsdale reality TV participant Zack Stewart from Fox's "Paradise Hotel" says he still gets recognized, especially since the movie recently was released on DVD.

I've been around here (Arizona) forever, so people knew I was in the movie, he says. Here and there I get (recognized). I went to San Diego for the Fourth of July and was recognized a lot then. One girl even dumped a beer on my head.

But Jazwinski who played the field in "The Real Cancun" has no plans to settle down.

I'm single and I'm young, he says. The last thing that I want to have now is a girlfriend.
