
Cinco de Mayo festivities beckon partygoers to
East Valley cantinas

Valley Mexican-themed bars and restaurants are pulling out all the stops Wednesday in honor of Cinco de Mayo. Dos Gringos, which is expecting 20,000 attendees throughout the weekend, is among the bars offering a variety of festivities to celebrate this Mexican holiday.
Aunt Chilada's
Strolling mariachis, a DJ and liquor promotions will be part of the Cinco de Mayo fun at Aunt Chilada's this week. When: 4 p.m. to midnight Wednesday

Admission: Free
Specials: $3 domestic beers, $4 imports, $5 house margaritas, $6 Sauza margaritas, $7 build-your-own burrito buffet and1800 margaritas for $8 each during the bar's happy hour from 4 to 7 p.m. There will be various other specials throughout the night.

Dos Gringos
The Scottsdale bar will hold a three- day party with tricycle races, a balloon toss, scuba relay, dunk tank, hot tamale contest, bobbing for limes, water volleyball tournament and live music (Chalmer's Green and the Chadwicks will perform Friday; The Tina Bailey Duo, Chris Hiatt Band and Quantum on Saturday and Matt Tener and Knee Deep on Sunday). There will also be a 10,000-gallon pool, a 10-ton sand beach with lounge chairs, palm trees and lifeguards and food booths from Dos, Sugar Daddy's and Flip Flop's, which will be open until 1 a.m.

Dos Gringos Trailer Park
Customers are invited to bring their swimsuit and beach chairs to hang out by the new Dos pool all day with $2 Coronas.

Flicka's Baja Cantina
There will be games, giveaways, liquor promotions and live music by L.M.N.O.P. and T.A.T.E. when Flicka's opens the doors for its Cinco de Mayo blow out.

Macayo's Depot Cantina
Macayo's will host an all-day tent party with liquor promotions, a barber chair where you can do shots, a DJ, giveaways (including a trip to Las Vegas) and live performances from bands such as Marcy Playground and The Chadwicks. There also will be $5 margaritas throughout the day.

Margarita Rocks
The Tempe college dance club will throw their first Cinco de Mayo beach party in Hayden Square that will feature a 32-foot water slide, three-foot deep pool, outdoor sand volleyball court, two large pools, a DJ, mariachis, Johnny Surf Poser fashion show and games. When: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

San Felipe's Cantina
The north Scottsdale hot spot will extend its premises into DC Ranch for a party that will include performances by Rock Lobster and Shirley's Temple, beer tubs and liquor giveaways. The bar will also launch their Sauza University Passport Program, which encourages tequila drinking for prizes.
