Opportunity knocks for ‘Last Comic Standing’ veteran comedian By KELLY WILSON

Since appearing on NBC’s reality comedy competition “Last Comic Standing,” doors have been swinging open for comedian Todd Glass.
The Philadelphia native — who describes himself as the secret love child of Mel Gibson and Fred Flintstone — has been touring with David Spade and selling out smaller club gigs when he headlines performances. And he’s in the process of developing two television shows.
“I’m working with Happy Madison Productions, Adam Sandler’s production company on a sketch show,” he says. “It’s a show where I’m in a coma and people come by to visit me and when they visit me, they throw back to my past and it’s basically to revive sketch. It might be self-fulfilling of me but I think this will do that.”
He’s also in the process of developing a show called “Todd Glass Changes America.”
“It’s Andy Rooney meets Michael Moore,” he says. “I’m out in one of those RVs like the country stars have and I’m dealing with things that bother me from the light to the more heavy.”
Glass says that although he didn’t triumph the second season of the Emmy-nominated “LCS,” he’s grateful for his time on the show.
“I had a great experience doing it,” Glass, who also appeared in the
“LCS” season one and season two face off, says. “I went into it knowing it was a reality show and I had a good time. Even when I lost, I didn't take it seriously. I don’t want to lie — I was bummed when I lost and I wish I could have stayed in longer because I was having a good time ... I would do it again in a heartbeat. Think about it. You go in and nobody really knows who you are. You come out and you have a following. You have a following and about $75,000.”
Although NBC opted to not air the “LCS 3” finale due to low ratings, Glass says the show will return in the summer with a fourth installment.
“They should have just left well enough alone,” he says of the season three battle of the casts. “I’m glad they didn’t because it helped my career. They just know that season one against season two didn’t work but the house did great and they’re going to do it again next year.”
