East Valley clubs get into the spooky spirit with Halloween parties

Halloween is here, and there's a bigger question aside from the usual "trick or treat?" You're probably asking yourself, 'Where can I go this year to get my freak on?' Well, don't worry, ghouls and goblins, we've got our little finger on the nightlife pulse and found some Halloween hot spots to hit Friday night.

Axis/Radius (7340 E. Indian Plaza, Scottsdale, ) will present its Sixth Annual Ghost Ball Friday. The club will give away $1,500 to the person with the best costume, a trip for two to New Orleans for Mardi Gras to the person with the sexiest costume, a trip to see Matchbox Twenty at the Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas for most original costume, four VIP tickets to the Tempe Improv for the best impersonator and a party for 100 people at Axis/Radius for the best group. Clubgoers are encouraged to check in before 10 p.m. if they want to compete in the costume contest. Doors open at 8 p.m. Cover is $10.

After the party concludes at Axis/Radius, Sanctuary (7340 E. Shoeman Lane, Scottsdale, ) will keep things going with the Ghost Ball after party from 1 to 4 a.m. The club will give away $1,000 to the person with the best costume. Cover is $10 (free if you're coming from Axis/Radius or Suede).

O Restaurant & Lounge (4720 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, ) will host Fear Friday. The Halloween party will feature a costume contest with $3,000 in prizes. Doors open at 5 p.m. Admission is $10.

Clubgoers can win a trip for two to Las Vegas aboard a private jet during Next's (7111 E. Fifth Ave., Scottsdale, ) Halloween contest Friday. Doors open at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

New Tempe club Margarita Rocks (410 S. Mill Ave., ) will throw its first Halloween shindig Friday. Festivities will include a complimentary buffet, $2.50 well drinks, wine, drafts and margaritas from 5 to 9 p.m. and a costume contest with $2,000 in cash and prizes. Doors open at 5 p.m. with a $5 cover charge.

If you're in Chandler this Halloween, head over to Iguana Mack's (1371 N. Alma School Road, ) for its second annual Halloween Bash. The bar will feature a costume contest with cash prizes for sexiest, scariest and most creative costumes, along with a pumpkin seed-spitting contest, a pumpkin pie-eating contest and a DJ. Iguana Mack's will also offer $3 Witch's Brew (festive alcoholic punch) throughout the night and happy hour specials from 4 to 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. to midnight. The festivities begin at 4 p.m. Friday. Admission is free before 7 p.m. or if you're dressed in full costume. Otherwise, it's $5 to enter after 7 p.m.

Anderson's Fifth Estate (6820 E. Fifth Ave., Scottsdale, ) will celebrate the holiday early with a pre-Halloween Panic bash and costume contest Thursday. The bar will also give away a framed autographed Coldplay lithograph. Drafts will be on special for $1 throughout the night. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the cover is $5.

The club will host a Spooktacular Halloween Bash Friday and will offer two-for-one drinks from 8 to 10 p.m. and $3 cocktails after 10 p.m. The bar will also give away $500 in cash and prizes during a costume contest. Doors open at 8 p.m. and admission is free.

Down the street, Noyz (4224 N. Craftsman Court, Scottsdale, ), will get scary with the Devil's Night Jam and dance party Thursday. Drinks will be on special for $1. There will also be $5 Hpnotiq Green Meanies. Doors open at 8 p.m. Admission is free.

On Friday, the club will present the Screaming Noyz Halloween party, during which it will give away $1,000 in cash and prizes during a costume contest. It will feature $1 drinks for the ladies until 10:30 p.m. and $2 drinks after 10:30 p.m. Guys can enjoy $2 Bud Light bottles from 8 to 10:30 p.m. Witches Brew martinis will be on special for $5. The Halloween festivities will begin at 8 p.m. Admission is free.

Eli's (7000 E. Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, ) is inviting costumed clubbers to its 12th Annual Halloween Costume Party Friday, which will include a costume contest and drink specials. The fun starts at 9 p.m. Admission is free.

Four DJs will spin new and old-school beats during the Third Annual Block Party at Mickey's Hangover (4312 N. Brown Ave., Scottsdale, ). The party will also feature drink specials, a ghoulish fashion show and a costume contest. Doors open at 5 p.m. Friday with a $5 cover.

Basketball great Shaquille O'Neal will host the Monster's Ball at CBNC (1420 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, ) Friday. The majority of the Lakers will also be in attendance for this Halloween party that will include a costume contest and giveaways. Doors open at 9 p.m. The cover is $25.

Masked and cloaked guards will greet guests at 6 (7316 E. Stetson Drive, Scottsdale, ) Friday during All Hallow's Eve, the club's Halloween party. The club will feature belly dancers, a tattooed spectacle, a 14-foot python and its master and other bizarre delights. The party is from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. Cover is $5.

Sugar Daddy's (3102 N. Scottsdale Road, Scottsdale, ), Dos Gringos (4209 N. Craftsman Court, Scottsdale, ) and Dos Gringos Trailer Park (216 E. University Drive, Tempe, ) will all hold Halloween parties Friday that will include costume contests, drink specials and giveaways. The clubs will also have a Double Decker Scream Bus, which will bounce patrons around to the three clubs. Festivities begin at 8 p.m. at all three clubs. Admission is free at both Dos Gringos locations. Sugar Daddy's will charge a $2 cover.

Nita's Hideaway (3300 S. Price Road, Tempe, ) will host two Halloween concerts. The live music venue will throw a pre-Halloween bash Thursday with the Mas-ska-rade Ball. Suburban Legends, Solemite, Workshirt Wonder and Troy's Bucket will perform. Doors open at 8 p.m. and tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. Patrons will receive $1 off if they dress in costume.

On Friday, Valley rap-rock heroes the Phunk Junkeez will headline the Halloween Phreak Show. Pokafase, Illegal Substance, Rize, PH8, Cut Throat Logic, D.S.I. and the Dialeks will open. There will also be a costume contest and two stages with live music. Doors open at 6 p.m. and tickets are $12.

The Sports Bar at Pointe South Mountain (7777 S. Pointe Parkway, Phoenix, ) is getting its spook on with a Monster Masquerade that will include giveaways, drink specials such as $3.50 Witch's Brew and Cinnamon Vanilla-infused pumpkin patch drink, $2.50 domestic drafts, house wine and single-shot well drinks and haunting special effects. The party will go from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday. Admission is free.
