St. Patrick's Day at EV bars and clubs

From concerts to singles parties, bars and clubs are opening their doors to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, which is Monday. So throw on a wee touch o green and head out to one of these fine gatherings to celebrate the Irish holiday with fellow clubgoers.

Bash on Ash
When: 7 p.m. Saturday
Where: 230 W. Fifth St., Tempe
Events: KEDJ (103.9 FM The Edge) is hosting a St. Patrick's Day party with a big band blowout featuring local punk- reggae favorites Authority Zero and fellow East Valley punk rockers Redfield and Victim 26. The up-and-coming national pop-punk bands Hot Action Cop (who sing "Fever for the Flava") and Off by One (who sing "Change") will also perform. The bar will be pouring green beer all evening.

Casey Moore's Oyster House
When: 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday
Where: 850 S. Ash Ave., Tempe
Festivities: The bar will host live music this year with Steppchild, in addition to serving Irish treats such as corned beef and cabbage, shepherd's pie, Guinness stew, Irish Murphy and green beer.

Where: 21001 N. Tatum Blvd., Phoenix
Events: The entertainment plex will host a St. Patrick's Day fiesta for singles with an eight-minute dating party at which single professionals ages 34 to 46 will go on a series of eight-minute dates.

When: 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, 2 p.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday, noon to 1 a.m. Monday
Where: 7318 E. Stetson Drive, Scottsdale
Events: The bar, which has been throwing St. Patrick's Day celebrations since 1991, will host an outdoor party underneath a 30-foot-by-10-foot tent that will offer four full bars. Other festivities include green beer and shot specials such as an Irish Car Bomb throughout the weekend, in addition to drink promotions and catered food by Mickey's Hangover.
Admission: Free Friday through Sunday, $5 on Monday.

Maloney's on Campus
When: 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday
Where: 955 E. University Drive, Tempe
Events: The campus hot spot is expecting 10,000 people to come out to its annual outdoor tent party, which will feature live music by Old Dog New Tricks, Four Turns Left and the Chadwicks. There will also be prizes, giveaways, green beer, Jell-O shots, corned beef and cabbage and souvenir mugs for the first 1,000 people on site. If you're too hopped up on green beer to drive home, check out the Guinness taxi stand, which will offer revelers a $10 taxi voucher toward their safe ride home.

Where: 1010 W. Southern Ave., Mesa
Events: KZON (101.5 FM The Zone) and radio personality Tracy Lea will bring a bevy of local music the Pistoleros, Haggis, Jed's a Millionaire, Four Turns Left to R.T. O'Sullivan's for its annual Irish celebration. There will also be Irish dancers, bagpipe players, a Name That Tune contest and giveaways such as a trip to Ireland and a chance to see Avril Lavigne play live.

Where: 401 S. Mill Ave., Tempe
Festivities: In an effort not to be outshined, Rula Bula is throwing one heck of a weekend extravaganza. The Irish pub will extend its premises and offer an outdoor tent that will feature vendors, Guinness apparel, a patio bar, drink promotions from Guinness, Bailey's and Jameson, giveaways and prizes.
The pub will also host live music with bands such as O'Carrolls Gate, Blackwood, Afan, Keltic Cowboys, Mountain Duo and Ashling as well as Irish dancers. The pub will offer an alcohol-free family area for people younger than 21.
